Medicine cabinet

Digital thermometerSo you can settle the argument with a number.
Paracetamol or ibuprofenCheck it suits him and follow the pack. A pharmacist will help if he takes other medicines.
Cold and flu remedyDo not combine it with other paracetamol. Read the label twice.
Throat lozengesTwo flavours, so he has something to rank.

Food and drink

Tinned soupChicken is traditional. Anything with a ring pull will do.
Herbal teaGinger, peppermint, chamomile. Honey and lemon on standby.
Squash or electrolyte drinksBecause plain water is, apparently, not enough.
Crackers and bread for toastGentle carbs for when appetite returns.
Emergency chocolateFor morale. Probably yours.
